各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

五月份可算是一個多姿多彩的月份。五月初是六年級戶外教育營，全級六年級的同學前往大棠渡假村，一起渡過三日兩夜(3/5-5/5)的生活。

This month is vibrant. In the beginning of May, an educational camp for P.6 students were held. They had stayed in Tai Tong Holiday Camp for 3 days from 3rd – 5th May.

第一天，同學們帶著期待又興奮的心情入營，參與着老師設計的學習任務。晚上時，部分的同學不能入睡，導致第二天十分疲倦，但也無損他們的心情。第二天時，當我、副校長、主任及老師前往探營，他們十分雀躍，不停向我們報告營內的情況。相信六年級同學經過三天與同學的相處，學習了團隊合作、遵守紀律、遇挫不氣餒的精神。三天過後，我發現他們成熟了，也開始對學校有點依依不捨。我相信他們畢業後，也會回母校探望老師，及懷緬學校的點滴。

On the first day, students were so excited with their expectations to enter the campsite. They needed to participate the learning tasks designed by teachers. At night, lots of students could not sleep that made them feel exhausted but it did not ruin their mood. On the second day, teachers went in the campsite to visit students, they were thrilled and kept on reporting what they did. I believe that they learned cooperation, discipline and determination in this activity. After 3-day, they became mature and start missing the school. They promise to visit the alma mater next year to let them recall their good memories and visit teachers.

五月六日(星期六)本校與同區4所小學舉辦了一個英文活動，名為Speaking Towards Excellence Project (S.T.E.P)，給與學生多練習英文口語。這個活動由教育局協調及三所中學的協助及表演。當天的嘉賓是總學校發展主任(屯門) 韓憲茵女士、高級學校發展主任(屯門) 賴嬙女士、學校發展主任(屯門) 鄧詠虹女士，還有一些中學校長參加。無論大型活動或分組的活動，同學們都十分投入。由於疫情，已經三年沒有舉行此活動，今年終於圓滿結束，衷心多謝本校的英文科顧問傅美儀主任、英文科主任陳家雋老師、外藉英語老師Ms.Ruth以及所有英文老師的努力，我們也得到高度評價。

Speaking Towards Excellence Project (S.T.E.P.) was held by 5 primary schools in Tuen Mun. LTY was the host school. It aims to provide more opportunities to students to practice their spoken English. This function was promoted by EDB and 3 secondary schools provided students to help run all the activities and do the performance. The honorable guest was Ms. Hon, the Chief School Development Officer (Tuen Mun). The other guests were Ms. Lai, Senior School Development Officer and Ms. Tang, School Development Officer. Some secondary school principals came to show their support. Both the big event at the school at school hall or classroom activities, students were so engaged. Owing to the pandemic, this activity had not been held for 3 years and it was finally held. I really want to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to Ms. Wendy Fu, the English consultant, Mr. Jeff Chan, the English Panel Head, Mr. Ruth, our NET and all the English teacher for all your endeavors. We got lots of positive feedback with complements in this event.

五月十五日至五月十九日，是本校的跨課程學習周，總主題為「充滿愛」，各級的主題如下：

From 15th – 29th May, 2023, it was the week of Reading across the Curriculum (RaC), the chief theme is “Full of Love” and the sub-theme of each level are listed below:

這星期，同學以「經歷為本」的方法學習，不單參觀，還有參與講座、工作坊等，最後，同學們用不同形式分享本星期所學習的知識，同學們不單學習到知識，更在一個愉快的氣氛下學習，令他們學習變得更有效。可惜我未能與同學及老師一起進行，因為在同一星期，我到了北京參加香港中小學校長領導研習班。是次的進修，原本在三年前進行，疫情令此活動一改再改，今年終於成行。行程內容主要以講座、論壇為主，當中也有參觀小學、北京大學、科技公司及欣賞藝術表演，行程十分緊密。這次交流認識了不少校長，大家也有交流一下日常的工作，收穫豐富。

In this RaC week, students employed “experience-oriented” approach to learn, they did not just have excursions but they also had seminars, workshops and so on. At last, students needed to do a presentation with different formats to present what they had learnt. They did not just learn the knowledge, they learned collaboration, communication and other generic skills under this cheerful atmosphere which made them learn effectively. However, I could not attend RaC with students and teachers. In this week, I went to Beijing to join a 6-day course for principals in Hong Kong secondary and primary schools. We learn more about leadership and the development of China. This course should join 3 years ago due to the pandemic, it was postponed for 3 years. It was finally arranged. The schedule was about seminar, talk, and visit. We visited a primary school, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, scientific company and watched a dance performance in the National Theatre. Although the itinerary was tight, I learned a lot and knew more principals which could build a big connection to share among. It is such a fruitful learning experience.

在五月二十四日，張主席、鄭校監、蘇校董陪同「如一青年基金」鄧富仁先生及總幹事參觀本校。首先，我在會議室向各位匯報本校在國民教育上的工作成效。之後我們一起參觀學校的禮堂、校園電視台、圖書館、操場、升旗台等等，大家表示欣賞學校的環境及安排。

On 24th May, 2023, the chairman, Mr. Cheung, the school supervisor, Mr. Cheng, our former principal and school manager, Mr. So accompanied with the Chairman of ‘As One Youth Foundation’, Mr. Tang, and the secretary-general, Mr. Chow to visit our school. First of all, I did a presentation for them in the conference room about the development and the effectiveness of the Moral and National Education in our school. Then, we had a school tour in the school hall, school campus TV room, the new library, school playground, flag raising podium and so forth. Our school campus with the environment were highly appreciated and they also praised our arraignment.
